ConnectGV is seeking Casual Disability Support Workers to join our values-driven team and provide person-centred support across our individual, residential and day program services. About the Role
As a Disability Support Worker with ConnectGV, you will provide high-quality, person-centred support aligned with individual goals, support plans and our organisational values. Depending on skills and experience, casual opportunities are available at Level 1 and Level 2.
In this role, you will:
- Provide person-centred active support in residential homes, day programs and 1:1 community-based settings.
- Assist with daily living activities including personal care, meal preparation, mobility, transport, health support and community participation.
- Promote and uphold the rights, dignity, choice and wellbeing of people with disability at all times.
- Foster safe, respectful and inclusive environments.
- Follow all individual support plans, behaviour support plans and health management plans.
- Uphold ConnectGV’s values and our commitment to zero tolerance of abuse, neglect and exploitation.
Our Services
ConnectGV provides a wide range of supports across the Goulburn Valley, including:
Day Services
Monday–Friday (9:00am–3:00pm) at Bowenhall Street, focusing on skill development, social engagement and meaningful daily activities.
Individual Supports
One-on-one support across community and home-based settings, seven days a week, tailored to individual goals, independence and inclusion.
Residential Services
24/7 support across our supported accommodation homes, providing safe, consistent, person-centred living environments.
About You
We are looking for people who are:
- Compassionate, reliable and values-driven.
- Committed to person-centred practice and promoting the rights of people with disability.
- Flexible and available to work a variety of shifts, which may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, sleepovers, active nights and public holidays.
- Confident supporting people with daily living, personal care and health support (training provided).
- Clear communicators who can work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable using technology and have access to an electronic device and internet (e.g. smartphone or tablet) to complete case notes, incident reports and training requirements.
- Able to build positive, respectful relationships with participants, families and colleagues.
Qualifications & Experience
Casual positions are available at Level 1 and Level 2 depending on qualifications and experience.
Level 1 – Entry Level (Less than 12 months experience)
- No formal qualification required.
- Less than 12 months experience in disability, community or related support environments.
- Demonstrated interest in disability support, a willingness to learn, and alignment with ConnectGV’s values and the rights, dignity and choices of people with disability.
- Willingness to commence a Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) in your own time (desirable).
Level 2 – Experienced (12 months or more)
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent (desirable).
- Minimum 12 months experience in disability, community or health services, including supporting people with health or behavioural needs.
- Experience or maturity enabling effective support for people with intellectual, physical, multiple disabilities or ABI.
Mandatory for All Applicants
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
- National Criminal History (Police) Check
- Working with Children Check – Employee
- Current Victorian Driver’s Licence (for Level 2 positions)
- Current First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009), or willingness to complete the NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- Access to an electronic device and internet (e.g. smart phone / tablet) for work use
