Disability Support Worker – Parental Leave Coverage Position (Temporary, Maximum Term)

At ConnectGV, we’re connected; to our people, to our community, and to the individuals we support across the Goulburn Valley.  We are seeking Disability Support Workers to join our Individual Support team on a parental leave replacement temporary maximum term basis and provide person-centred support that makes a real difference.

About the Role

This is a temporary parental leave replacement Individual Support Worker position from April 2026 to September 2026 (or earlier if the substantive employee returns from parental leave). In this role, you will:

  • Provide one-on-one, individualised support aligned with the participant’s personal goals and support plan
  • Assist with daily living tasks including personal care, meal preparation, transport, and medication support
  • Support community participation and social engagement
  • Promote independence, skill development, and capacity building
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive environment
  • Uphold the rights, dignity, and wellbeing of the participant at all times
  • Work collaboratively with the broader support team as required.

Hours

70 hours per fortnight

Shifts:

  • Monday: 8:30am – 4:00pm
  • Wednesday: 8:30am – 4:00pm
  • Thursday: 8:30am – 3:30pm
  • Friday: 8:30am – 4:30pm
  • Every second Sunday: 9:00am – 7:00pm

About You

  • Experience supporting participants with complex needs in home and community settings
  • Strong self-management and organisational skills
  • Ability to implement and work towards individual goals and support plans
  • Confidence in developing and following structured programs
  • Adaptable and responsive to changing situations and participant needs
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to person-centred support and promoting independence
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work both independently and as part of a team

Qualifications & Experience

  •  Minimum 12 months experience in disability, community or health services, including supporting people with health or behavioural needs.
  •  Experience or maturity enabling effective support for people with intellectual, physical, multiple disabilities or ABI.
  •  Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent (desirable).

Mandatory for All Applicants

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • National Criminal History (Police) Check
  • Working with Children Check – Employee
  • Current Victorian Driver’s Licence
  • Current First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009), or willingness to complete the NDIS Worker Orientation Module
  • Access to and willingness to use a personal electronic device (e.g. smartphone or tablet) with internet connectivity for work purposes, including accessing ConnectGV systems (e.g. CRM), in accordance with organisational policies.
