THE OPPORTUNITY
As a Casual Disability Support Worker, you will join the ConnectGV casual bank and provide flexible, person-centred support across a variety of services, including residential services, individual support, and day programs.

Our casual bank plays an important role in supporting service delivery across ConnectGV by assisting with workforce needs, planned and unplanned leave coverage, and operational requirements across different locations.

This role offers flexibility and variety, with opportunities to work across different environments, support needs, and shift types while making a meaningful difference in the lives of people with disability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Casual Disability Support Worker, you will:

• Provide individualised, person-centred support in line with each person's goals, preferences, and support plans.
• Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, medication support, transport, household tasks, and community                    participation.
• Work across a variety of ConnectGV services, including residential homes, individual support, and day programs, based on operational requirements.
• Promote the rights, dignity, independence, and wellbeing of the people we support while maintaining a safe and inclusive environment.
• Complete documentation, communicate effectively with colleagues and families, and contribute positively to a collaborative team culture.

 

ABOUT YOU

Casual positions are available at Level 1 and Level 2, depending on qualifications, skills, and experience.

Level 1 – Entry Level (Less than 12 months experience)

• No formal qualification required.
• Less than 12 months experience in disability, community services, aged care, or related support environments.
• Demonstrated interest in disability support, a willingness to learn, and alignment with ConnectGV’s values and the rights, dignity, and choices of people with disability.
• Willingness to commence a Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) in your own time (desirable).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and contribute positively to team culture.
• Commitment to person-centred practice, human rights, and safeguarding.

Level 2 – Experienced (12 months or more)

• Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability), Community Services, or an equivalent qualification (desirable).
• Minimum 12 months experience in disability, community, or health services, including supporting people with health or behavioural needs.
• Experience or demonstrated maturity enabling effective support for people with intellectual, physical, multiple disabilities, or acquired brain injury (ABI).
• Experience supporting people with complex health, behavioural, or personal care needs (desirable).
• Medication administration competency or willingness to obtain (desirable).
• Midazolam training (desirable).

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

The successful applicant will be required to:

• Hold or obtain a current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
• Hold or obtain a current Working with Children Check – Employee.
• Hold or obtain a current National Criminal History Check (Police Check).
• Hold a current Victorian Driver’s Licence.
• Complete all mandatory training requirements.
• Successfully complete pre-employment screening checks.
• Meet any role-specific licensing, qualification, registration, or vaccination requirements.
• Access an electronic device and internet connection (e.g. smartphone/tablet) for work-related requirements.
