About the Role

As the People & Culture Coordinator, you will provide generalist HR services to the organisation and support to the Executive Manager People, Quality & Safety.  This role encompasses all HR generalist tasks, including HR coordination, recruitment, onboarding, training, employee relations, performance management, HR systems, and maintaining employee records.  You will also contribute to health and wellbeing initiatives, ensuring compliance with policies and legislation while building strong relationships across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

You will develop and implement HR initiatives and systems, providing advice on policies, procedures, and legislation.  Coordinating performance management processes and staff recognition programs will be central to your role, as will leading recruitment processes, including advertising, onboarding, and offboarding.  Maintaining accurate employee records and ensuring data integrity is essential, along with coordinating the annual training and development calendar and supporting the implementation of new systems.  

Additionally, you will develop and deliver proactive health and wellbeing initiatives, including promoting a positive OHS and wellbeing culture, assisting with the coordination of injury prevention and risk management, and coordinating return-to-work processes.  You will ensure compliance with WorkSafe requirements and monitor and report on wellbeing and psychological safety activities.  Building effective professional relationships with stakeholders and contributing to quality improvement processes aligned with NDIS Quality Indicators are also important responsibilities.

Qualifications and Experience

We are looking for someone with a post-secondary qualification in Human Resource Management or a related discipline, coupled with experience in recruitment, onboarding, and HR generalist experience.  Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Fair Work Act and the ability to interpret industrial instruments, is essential, as are strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience in the disability, health or community sector is desirable, but certainly not essential.

The successful candidate will have a high level of judgment and attention to detail, proficiency in IT applications including Microsoft Suite, HR systems and the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.  Empathy, diplomacy, and discretion are also key attributes.
