Great opportunity to work in Day Programs:

Are you ready to make a meaningful impact? This exciting role offers you the chance to support participants in ConnectGV’s Day Programs. You’ll assist individuals with disabilities in accessing their local community through various activities, including sports and recreation (like swimming), educational pursuits, life skills, performing arts, skill development, and work skills.

ConnectGV Day Programs have shifts available between 8:00am and 4:00pm, Monday to Friday, where you’ll help individuals build and maintain valuable skills. This is a great opportunity to make a difference in people's lives while benefiting from the stability of permanent employment. 


Core Responsibilities:

  • Program Development: Create a safe and nurturing environment that promotes independence, dignity, and respect for each individual.
  • Collaborative Care: Partner with participants, their families, and community organisations to engage in meaningful programs.
  • Person-Centred Approach: Consistently provide support that is tailored to each participant’s needs.
  • Advocacy: Champion the rights and needs of individuals with disabilities, ensuring their voices are heard and respected.
  • Documentation: Maintain program plans and accurate records of participant progress, achievements, and any incidents, in line with organisational policies and procedures.
  • Continuous Improvement: Enhance your skills and knowledge through ongoing training and professional development.
  • Adaptability: Adjust to a changing environment with flexibility.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A genuine passion for supporting individuals with disabilities and a commitment to making a positive difference in their lives.
  • Understanding of NDIS practice standards
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trusting relationships.
  • Empathy, patience, and a compassionate nature to provide the best possible care and support.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and situations.
  • Facilitating programs to achieve goals for participants
  • Certificate III or IV in Disability Support, Individual Support, or a related field (preferred but not essential).
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Valid driver's license
  • Satisfactory NDIS Worker Screening Check, Police Check and Working with Children Check.
  • COVID-19 vaccination compliance.
  • NDIS ‘New Worker Orientation’ module (prior to appointment).
